They get, on a weekly or monthly basis, a stack of piled-up patent documents selected by patent classification, keywords or identity of the applicant. Then the paper documents are circulated amongst staff members. This appears to be somewhat time-consuming and ineffective. It certainly does not boost the popularity of exploiting patent documents. Perhaps some measures might ease the situation a little:
1. Providing individualised feeds with data on selected patent documents. This looks as if it should not be uttlerly difficult to obtain but up to now I do not have seen such a thing. [...]"
So, now I have learned that WIPO already offers such a very useful feature for searching International patent applications filed under the Patent Co-Operation Treaty (PCT). After having submitted a search query, the result list shows a button labeled "RSS" the hyperlink of which can be further utilised with the usual RSS feed readers.
For example and to illustrate the new feature I have created a feed covering International Patent Class H04K 1/00 concerning "Secret communication":
In case of any Officials from EPO and/or DPMA reading this posting: Wouldn't it be a nice idea to implement such a feature in esp@acenet, epoline, and DPINFO, respectively, as well?
