Germany: SPD and Greens now fighting against own Government.

The parliamentary groups of the Social Democrats (SPD) as well as of the Greens ("Buendnis 90/Die Gruenen") in the lower house of the German Parliament ("Bundestag") have now also decided to jump on the bandwagon (

here) promoting a radical cutback of the patentability of computer-implemented inventions by introducing a narrow definition of the concept of "technical contribution",

reports Heise Newsticker. It is said that this draft resolution will be tabled to the plenary next week. If the resolution should win a majority vote the parlamentary groups of both parties would effectively have exposed their own Government under Chancellor Schroeder in a very pejorative manner.
