German CDU/CSU also jumping on Anti-Patent Bandwagon.

today's session of the

first chamber of the German Parliament ("Bundestag") there will be a discussion (and probably also a vote) on the

draft resolution on the question of patentability of computer-implemented inventions sponsored by the parliamentary group of the Liberal Democrats (FDP).

The joint parliamentary group of the German Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and of the German Christian Socialist Union (CSU) have now come forward with their own

draft resolution [in German only, sorry] which will also be discussed and voted upon today. This draft resulution stresses the desire of the CDU/CSU to further restrict the patenting of computer-implemented inventions by introducing a narrow definition of the concept of "technical contribution" into the EU Draft Directive.
