UK Intellectual Property Research: "The Extent and Value of Intellectual Property in United Kingdom Firms".

The following economics papers were written as part of a research project funded by the Patent Office, entitled: "The Extent and Value of Intellectual Property in United Kingdom Firms":

• "Trends and distribution of intellectual property: UK and European patents and UK trade and service marks 1986-2000" (pdf file 247Kb), by Christine Greenhalgh, Mark Longland, Oxford Intellectual Property Research Centre (OIPRC) and Derek Bosworth, University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology UMIST)
• "Intellectual Property Scoreboards for the UK in 2000" (pdf file 221Kb), by Christine Greenhalgh and Mark Longland, OIPRC, 2002.
• "Measuring the Quality of Patents" (pdf file 278Kb), by Derek Bosworth, Despoina Filiou and Mark Longland, UMIST and OIPRC, January 2003

OIPRC have also reported on current research into the economics of intellectual property: "The Economics of IP: A review to identify themes for future research". By Padraig Dixon and Christine Greenhalgh. This was commissioned by the Intellectual Property Advisory Committee (IPAC) and funded by the Intellectual Property Institute along with three other papers reviewing research in the area of copyright.
